- This site is called The Trailer Sailor, NOT The Trailer
Sailer.
In other words, it is a community of people, not a collection of boats.
Feel free to discuss anything of interest. Please do not be concerned about
staying "on topic", as anything that a sailor is interested in is on-topic. The very demographics of the site's readership (sailors) will
keep the discussions generally about sailing. If a topic is not to your liking,
just skip it.
- Prohibited topics. It is not okay to discuss politics or religion, unless it pertains directly to sailing. Threads that wander into larger political issues will be removed.
- You are free to express your opinions, in a reasonable and
courteous manner. Your opinions will be much
better received when expressed in a positive manner. Remember,
there is a big difference between disagreeing with someone and
attacking them on a personal level.
- You are not free to be a jerk. Personal attacks on participants is strictly prohibited. We make no warrantee to be fair or preserve your right to
free speech. If you want a "free-for-all forum" where
anything goes, this is not the place for you.
- Reader beware. On this board the reader will
find facts, competent advice, advice, and opinion. Sometimes it is
difficult to ascertain the difference. The individual reader must
evaluate and determine the suitability of any material on this board
to his/her own situation. In other words, take everything with a grain of salt.
- Foul language is really not appreciated and is
unnecessary. This is an all-ages board. Please, let's at least strive for PG-13.
- No commercial messages. If you want to promote your business on The Trailer Sailor, buy
some advertising space.
- Please do not post boats for sale here, or link to them. This applies whether or not it's your boat for sale. If there's a can't-miss deal on Craigs List, just say so. But linking to boats is unfair to the people who actually support this site by purchasing classified ads.
- Aliases are permitted, however posting under multiple aliases/personalities is prohibited. If you
fraudulently post under another participants name,
expect to be booted out.
- The Trailer Sailor is not your private army. While we encourage sharing information about retailers and suppliers, we cannot condone the use of the forum to further a vendetta or to leverage a settlement. Feel free to post your gripe once, but not at every opportunity. Unwary consumers can easily find your post on Google or in the forum archives.
- Removal of posts and loss of access. The Trailer Sailor reserves the right to edit post, remove posts, or ban users at its discretion. Actually removing a message or booting someone from the board is an extremely rare occurrence. Please help keep it that way.
- Limited liability. The material posted by participants does not reflect the opinions of Sailboat Owners, Inc., aka The Trailer Sailor, and we do not fact check or in any way verify accuracy.
